DR DESARIE L. HOLMES

Dr. Desarie L. Holmes, PhD has 20 years of behavioral health including 10 years of behavioral health program development; and nine years of hospital behavioral health management. Dr. Holmes has presented to numerous groups on topics related to individual and community violence, community needs assessment, collective impact, agency collaborations, trauma informed care, cultural competence, diversity and inclusion, federal advocacy, and substance use disorder.. She completed her Bachelor of Art Degree in psychology as well as a certificate in African American Studies from Saint Louis University in 1999. Dr. Holmes further completed her Master of Research M.S. (R) in 2006, and received her doctorate of philosophy in clinical psychology from Saint Louis University in 2009. Dr. Holmes also completed a formal child and adolescent internship at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 2008, and completed a LEAH-Post-Doctoral Psychology Fellowship (Leadership in Education & Adolescent Health) at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2010. Dr. Holmes received specialized training in adolescent health, and previously served in the department of psychiatry, out-patient services, and adolescent medicine at the Golisano Children’s Hospital in Rochester, New York. Dr. Holmes remains committed and dedicated to providing quality mental health and substance use disorder education coupled with quality care and community service to underserved populations.
